Easy Apple Pie Croissants

on May 23, 2012

Don’t you just love the smell of an apple pie baking in the oven? I sure do.

Oh, and the taste?  So delicious! They taste like apple pie cheesecake. YUM!

However, making a homemade apple pie is time-consuming.   If you want the yummy taste of apple pie without all the work, try this:  Apple Pie Croissants!  These things are super easy to make.   So easy in fact, that you don’t really need to follow any recipe.  (Confession, I hate following recipes! That is why I have trouble recreating things I have made before.)  I’ll tell you how I made these Apple Pie Croissants…  (I’m sure there are recipes like this on the internet too)

My daughter and I prepared them together.  She really loves working in the kitchen with me and I love that it is a great educational experience for her.

This is what you need:

Croissants – 2 cans

Apple Pie Filling – 1 can

Cream Cheese –   8 oz

Powdered Sugar

Preheat the oven to 375 (follow the croissant baking instructions on the can)

Take the cream cheese and add just enough powdered sugar to sweeten it up a bit.  Mix together until nice and creamy.

So happy to be helping mommy 🙂

Roll out the Croissants, add some cream cheese mixture to each of them.  Next, add the apple pie filling.  Sprinkle with cinnamon.  Easy Peasy!

Ready for the oven!

Roll the croissants and put them in the oven.  They only take about 10-12 minutes to bake.

After you take them out of the oven, drizzle some caramel on top.  Mmmmmm!   (Caution: they are HOT! Let them cool for a minute.)

Mmmm, looking good!

If you feel like really indulging and have ice cream in the freezer, go ahead and add a couple of scoops.

We made these with Cherry Pie filling,  also delicious.

So easy to make and with ingredients that I typically always have on hand.  This is a great dessert to whip up if you are short on time.

Happy Apple Pie Croissant Baking to you!
