My daughter loves oatmeal for breakfast. I don’t like to use the pre-packaged instant oatmeal packets because they are loaded with junk she doesn’t need. Making oatmeal is really not a difficult task I know, but, to make it even easier I decided to make my own oatmeal packets.
Simply add your measured oats, some brown sugar & cinnamon to a sandwich bag. I wrote on the outside of the bag how much water/milk to add to the cooking pot.
My daughters oatmeal isn’t quite ready until I add milk and a few sprinkles to it.
It would be great with some fruit maybe some diced apples or blueberries.
For an even healthier alternative to oatmeal you could use other types of grains. Such as, millet, quinoa, barley, wheat, bulgur, amaranth, kamut, buckwheat, oats, and flaxseed.
Once you have measured out the oatmeal packets you can store all the baggies right in the oatmeal container.
